Masterclass: 5 essentials to Timescaping in Adobe Photoshop with Jordan Lloyd and Carles Marsal

Artists Jordan Lloyd and Carles Marsal follow on 18 October, with an online masterclass on timescaping – using retouching magic to collapse time and make images travel through decades in Adobe Photoshop.

Artificially adding colour to black and white photographs was one of the earliest examples of photographic manipulation. Artisans would add colour to their shots via hand painting or lithographic processes. The craft has experienced a revival in recent years in the form of colourisation, thanks to digital tools like Adobe Photoshop which brings previously unimaginable control and realism to the process.

Barcelona-based digital matte artist Carles has extensive experience in creating hyper-realistic compositions. In the masterclass, he will show you how to composite elements from historical photographs and Adobe Stock to bring the past to life in stunning colour. London based colourist Jordan Lloyd will guide you through cleaning up and adding realistic colour and grading to finish off your timescape.
