Celebrating National Nonprofit Day 2026: How Adobe supports nonprofits in extending their impact

This National Nonprofit Day, we celebrate the organizations making communities thrive and the teams who do far more than most people ever see. For decades, Adobe has supported nonprofits, and our commitment remains the same today: to help organizations bring their missions to life, communicate more effectively, and spend less time on administrative friction and more time on impact.

Through Adobe for Nonprofits, eligible organizations can access free or heavily discounted Adobe products designed to make their work easier, from creating campaigns and content to managing documents and signatures.

The reality many nonprofits are working with

While the US nonprofit sector is vast — boasting two million organizations and 13 million employees nationally — many organizations are stretched thin. Research shows that 70 percent of nonprofits report annual revenue of under $50K and roughly 43 percent rely heavily on volunteers to reach their goals. As a result, team members often wear multiple hats.

This reality shapes everything from how nonprofits create content to how they adopt new tools. Smaller teams must tackle unique resource constraints and skill gaps, with many nonprofit employees reporting lower confidence when it comes to adopting new technology. It’s no wonder that many nonprofits are looking for practical, relevant guidance on how to boost their outreach and realize their mission.

That’s why Adobe’s approach to supporting nonprofits is about more than software. It’s about meeting teams where they are with tools, templates, training, and examples that help them move faster without sacrificing quality or authenticity.

Creativity and efficiency should work together

Nonprofit storytelling is both creative and operational. It’s the campaign asset and the contract. The donor one-pager and the volunteer flyer. The annual report and the form that gets it out the door.

This is where Adobe shines. Adobe Express helps nonprofit teams quickly create professional-looking social posts, flyers, presentations, and fundraising campaign assets. Adobe Acrobat Pro supports e-signatures and document workflows, helping teams do everything from sharing files reliably across different operating systems to protecting important information from unauthorized edits.

Most importantly, nonprofits can apply AI with clarity and confidence, relying on Adobe’s commercially safe image models in Firefly to make outstanding AI content without fear.

San José Public Library Foundation

The San José Public Library Foundation (SJPLF) is just one example. The California-based nonprofit empowers their community by facilitating over 20,000 educational programs annually. They have come to rely on to work more collaboratively across departments.

“All of us are incredibly appreciative of Adobe’s generous donation of product licenses for our staff,” says Dawn Coppin, CEO of SJPLF. “For example, we use Adobe Acrobat Pro for all our external contracts and Memoranda of Agreement, giving our vendors and partners confidence in the security and legitimacy of our documents. What was once a process handled by a single administrative staff member can now be completed confidently by anyone on our team, saving time and reducing bottlenecks.”

As SJPLF continues to grow, the team is excited to expand their use of Adobe Creative Cloud to create even more engaging communications and marketing materials in support of their mission: supporting educational programs and resources through the public library, schools, and community-based organizations, to create an educated, equitable, empowered, and engaged community.

Small teams, big ambitions: helping nonprofits scale

At Adobe, we believe every nonprofit deserves the tools to tell its story clearly, create with confidence, and operate efficiently. Whether a team is building donor materials, designing event assets, managing signatures, or expanding its communications strategy, our goal is to help remove barriers so the mission can shine through.
