Adobe Firefly expands video and image creation with new AI capabilities and custom models

Create effortlessly in your unique style with custom models and video and image editing capabilities in Adobe Firefly

Generative AI began with an idea as simple as it was revolutionary: type a prompt, get an image.

The creative process is now evolving into more fluid AI-powered workflows where you generate, refine and shape ideas into work that is uniquely yours. Increasingly, you want to guide that process more naturally: using conversational AI controls to explore, iterate and develop ideas in real time.

Adobe Firefly was built to be your all-in-one creative AI studio that brings together the industry’s top AI models and the best multimodal creative tools. Today, we’re expanding access to Firefly custom models, which let you turn your creative style into a reusable model trained on your own images. In this public beta release, custom models are optimized for ideation in character, illustration and photographic styles.

Your trained custom models join more than 30 industry-leading models available in Adobe Firefly — including models from Adobe, Google, OpenAI, Runway and new additions like Kling — alongside powerful video and image editing tools and conversational AI experiences, all in a single environment built to take your work from concept through completion faster.

Here’s a look at what’s new in Adobe Firefly.

Your style, scaled

Your style is your signature. If you’re a creative pro or brand, it’s your identity.

No matter who you are, it takes years of investment building a visual identity. Maintaining that across media, campaigns, formats and platforms takes intention. To grow a brand, you need a steady stream of assets that consistently express who you are. Those assets should be yours and yours alone.

That’s where Firefly custom models come in. Now available in public beta, they let you train a model on your own images to capture a specific style, character or photographic look. Upload your assets, and Firefly analyzes and trains a model aligned to your aesthetic.

Custom Models are especially powerful for three types of creative work:

  • Illustration styles, where stroke weight, fills and color consistency matter
  • Characters, where the same character needs to appear consistently across scenes
  • Photographic styles, where a specific visual look needs to repeat across many images

They help preserve details like stroke weight, color palettes, lighting and character features across generations, so you can explore new creative directions without losing visual consistency. Instead of starting from scratch each time, your trained model becomes a reusable foundation you can build on again and again.

Once trained, your custom model becomes part of your workflow. You can generate new ideas aligned to your aesthetic, reuse the model across projects, briefs and campaigns and produce at scale without losing what makes your work distinctive. For teams producing high volumes of content, that consistency becomes a competitive advantage. And your models are private by default, so the content you create with them remains entirely yours.

More choice, more control

Great creative work requires both choice and control. Firefly gives you both.

That starts with giving you access to the right models for the job. Each model has different strengths. Some excel at cinematic motion. Others stand out in illustration, photorealism or stylized design. Different creative directions demand different strengths.

Inside Firefly, creators can now work with more than 30 top models from across the industry, including Google’s Nano Banana 2 and Veo 3.1, Runway’s Gen-4.5, Adobe’s Firefly Image Model 5 (now generally available) and now Kling’s 2.5 Turbo.

Firefly brings these models together in a single creative environment. It’s the only place where you can generate with one model, refine with another, compare outputs and continue editing using Adobe’s professional creative tools.

To support your exploration, we're currently offering unlimited video and image generations using a vast range of models available in Adobe Firefly. You can learn more about the Firefly promotions and plans here.

New creative tools

Firefly is built to help you move from concept to finished output faster and with greater control.

After generating with the model of your choice, Firefly’s image and video editing tools help you shape that output into something production-ready.

We’ve introduced new capabilities that make it easier to turn ideas into structured, editable results. Quick Cut turns raw footage into a structured first cut in minutes. Expanded image editing capabilities make it easier to add or remove objects, extend scenes and fine-tune generated visuals.

Generation and editing are fully integrated, so you can move from idea to draft, and from draft to refinement, without breaking your flow.

From prompts to chat: Project Moonlight

Typing a prompt was the first breakthrough. Conversation is the next one.

We’re introducing agentic AI assistants across Adobe’s products, including Photoshop, Express and Acrobat, that turn conversation into creation. Describe what you want to accomplish in a chat, and agents work with you to execute that vision using Adobe’s iconic tools — taking real actions you can refine, adjust and build on.

The result is a more intuitive way to create — one that feels closer to how ideas actually evolve.

Project Moonlight, first previewed at MAX, is a new conversational, agentic interface we’re building (now in private beta) that works across Adobe apps to help you move quickly from concept to completion.

Moonlight gets you. It understands your style and gives you control over the work, drawing from your own assets and libraries. You become the creative director of your own world, guiding the direction while the system helps carry your forward.

Today we’re expanding access to the Project Moonlight private beta, and continuing to gather feedback from creators as we shape the future of agentic creative workflows.
